International Cotton Prices 18-09-2020

Cotton prices at the global front remained stable with little bearish sentiment. It was expected after the latest USDA demand and supply report as no major change has been projected in global cotton production and consumption.

Pakistan Cotton Prices also remained firm and stable especially for the medium grade specification. while for the fine quality cotton prices remained firm as ginners were not ready to sell good quality cotton at lower level. Imported cotton parity was encouraging the ginners to remain firm as devaluation of Pak rupee against dollar has made it nearly difficult for spinner to use any other option and they are bound to return to buying from local market. PCGA (Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association) has also issued its first report for the cotton season 20/21, which is also threatening and showing huge difference in total arrival figures as compare to the last year same period report. PCGA report is also given below for better Understanding.

Cotton prices in India and China also remained stable to little soft following the ICE futures as New York Cotton Futures closed with minor down trend. December future closed with -21 points indicating some stability at international front.

Therefore cotton yarn prices in Indian, China, Pakistan, Vietnam and India also remained unchanged with minor changes in few yarn counts due to demand and supply factor. Weaving mills are also under pressure due to lesser sales. Although mills are asking higher prices for fabrics but on receipt of any firm bid they are ready to negotiate and want to grab the fabric orders to run their production flow.
