China and Mexico were the leading buyers, with significant quantities of cotton purchased, followed by Turkey, Vietnam, and Taiwan.

Reductions in Upland Sales: Pakistan, Thailand, Honduras, and Guatemala reduced their cotton purchases from the US for the next season.

Net Upland Shipment:

The total exports of 194,600 RB were slightly down by 2 percent from the previous week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Major destinations for US cotton exports were China, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Mexico.

Net Pima Sales 2022-23:

No net sales were reported for Pima cotton for the 2022/2023 season.

Net Pima Sales 2023-24:

Net sales of Pima cotton for 2023/2024 totaled 1,700 RB, indicating some demand for the upcoming season.

India and Italy were the major buyers of Pima cotton, followed by Vietnam and El Salvador.

Reductions in Pima Sales: Hong Kong reduced its Pima cotton purchases from the US.

Net Pima Shipment:

The total exports of Pima cotton amounted to 1,200 RB, showing a decrease of 41 percent from the previous week and 52 percent from the prior 4-week average.

The primary destinations for Pima cotton exports were India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

All increases in Pima cotton net sales were from India.
For 2023/2024, net sales of Pima cotton were 4,400 RB, with China (2,200 RB), Hong Kong (900 RB), and India (800 RB) being the major buyers.

Pima Cotton Exports:
Pima cotton exports were 2,100 RB, showing a 15 percent decrease from the previous week and a substantial 64 percent decrease from the prior 4-week average.

The main destinations for Pima cotton exports were Egypt (1,100 RB), India (600 RB), Japan (200 RB), and Colombia (200 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:
For 2023/2024, there was an outstanding balance of 900 RB for optional origin sales, and all of it was allocated to Pakistan.

Export for Own Account:

Increases primarily for China (32,400 RB), Vietnam (16,000 RB, including 300 RB switched from Japan and 100 RB switched from South Korea), India (7,800 RB, including decreases of 300 RB), Pakistan (3,800 RB, including decreases of 200 RB), and Turkey (3,500 RB), were offset by reductions for Guatemala (600 RB) and South Korea (100 RB).

Net sales of 86,100 RB for 2023/2024 were primarily for China (49,200 RB), Pakistan (17,900 RB), Vietnam (8,400 RB), Peru (7,000 RB), and Portugal (5,300 RB), offset by reductions for Turkey (1,700 RB), South Korea (900 RB), and Honduras (400 RB).

Exports of 233,100 RB were up 12 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.

The destinations were primarily to China (86,800 RB), Pakistan (31,100 RB), Turkey (26,200 RB), Vietnam (22,300 RB), and Bangladesh (13,300 RB).

Pima:

Net sales of Pima totaling 4,900 RB for 2022/2023 were down 29 percent from the previous week but up 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Increases were reported for Vietnam (2,200 RB), India (2,100 RB), China (400 RB), and Thailand (200 RB).

Total net sales of 900 RB for 2023/2024 were for Vietnam.

Exports of 2,400 RB were up 75 percent from the previous week but down 61 percent from the prior 4-week average.

The destinations were to Egypt (1,300 RB) and India (1,100 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:

For 2023/2024, new optional sales of 900 RB were for Pakistan.

The outstanding balance of 900 RB, all Pakistan.

Export for Own Account:

For 2022/2023, new exports for own account totaling 100 RB were to China.

Exports for own account totaling 4,200 RB to Vietnam (4,100 RB) and China (100 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales.

Cotton:  Net sales of 23,100 RB for 2022/2023
 were down 79 percent from the previous week and 76 percent from the prior 4-week average. 
 
Increases primarily for Bangladesh (18,200 RB), 
Vietnam (5,600 RB, including 2,000 RB switched from South Korea and 900 RB switched from Japan), 
Honduras (3,200 RB), Taiwan (2,000 RB), and 
Turkey (1,900 RB), were offset by 
 
reductions for Pakistan (6,600 RB), 
South Korea (2,000 RB), China (1,800 RB), and 
El Salvador (700 RB). 
 
Net sales of 51,000 RB for 2023/2024
 primarily for China (36,000 RB), Honduras (9,800 RB), Pakistan (2,500 RB),

Increases reported for India (5,100 RB), Vietnam (3,500 RB), and Thailand (100 RB switched from Japan), were offset by reductions for Italy (1,800 RB) and Japan (100 RB). 
 
Net sales of 300 RB for 2023/2024
 resulting in increases for India (2,500 RB), were offset by reductions for Italy (2,200 RB). 
 
Exports of 1,400 RB were down 67 percent
 from the previous week and 76 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Honduras (500 RB), Guatemala (300 RB), Bangladesh (300 RB), and Japan (200 RB).
 
Export for Own Account:
  For 2022/2023, new exports for own account totaling 1,200 RB were to Taiwan. 
 
Exports for own account totaling 2,400 RB
 primarily to Taiwan (1,200 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales. Decreases of 1,200 RB were to Vietnam.
